The annual Ballarat Heritage Festival will be held from 21–24 May.

This year, Xin Jin Shan Chinese Library will present an exhibition on the Dongba culture and pictographic script of China’s Naxi ethnic group.
新金山中文图书馆本届参展的主题是中国纳西族东巴文化及象形文字展览。

With a rich display of images and cultural objects, the exhibition is sure to offer visitors a fascinating and eye-opening experience.
大量图片和实物展示，定能让观众朋友们大饱眼福、啧啧称奇。

During the exhibition, visitors are welcome to try tracing Dongba pictographic characters by hand. Some small gifts will also be waiting for you!

Exhibition Introduction 展览介绍：
With a history of over 1,000 years, Dongba culture is a unique cultural heritage known by only a small number of people around the world.
东巴文化拥有一千多年的历史，是世界上少数人了解的独特文化遗产之一。

Dongba culture is an important part of the cultures of China’s 56 ethnic groups and shares common origins with the Tibetan Bon religion.
东巴文化是中国五十六个民族文化中的重要组成部分，并与藏族苯教有着共同的文化渊源。

This exhibition will introduce this little-known Dongba heritage through its pictographic script, paintings, costumes, and children’s colouring activities.
本次展览将通过东巴象形文字、绘画、服饰以及儿童涂色活动等形式，向观众介绍这一鲜为人知的东巴文化遗产。

Like Indigenous cultures, Dongba culture includes spiritual practices that reflect a deep relationship between humans, nature, and the land.
